Floral Towel

I love flowers very much, when I saw this flower design pattern, I can't stop myself to try it out. This pattern was from the book called "Weekend Knitting: 50 Unique Projects and Ideas" by Melanie Falick. I actually borrowed this book from the library, and found that this is the only pattern that I want to knit in the book.

You have to use double points for finishing off the whole flower design.
This was also my first time to use double points, I feel so clumsy to hold so many needles at a time, but, because I am a flower lover, I have to overcome this hardship. and finally I finish it, the yarn is cotton chenille that I bought from Camilla, it's so soft and the colour is just great !

My First Entrelac

This is a blanket? or shawl? or Stole? I dont' know yet, I was supposedly knitting a big stole following the pattern from ScarfStyle (by Pam Allen), Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole, however, the yarn that I used is a bit to sturdy that it looks more like a blanket now.More...

The yarn that I used is from Noro, Kureyon (100% wool), the colour looks so great with this entrelac pattern. This was my first time to try entrelac, I found it so strange while I started with the bottom triangles. However, when you knit along with the pattern, with pick up and knit, the patterns will go smoothly as following.

I didn't finish this project yet, it's a big big project, and I put it in my knitting bag for a long time. I shall bring it up again and finish it off.

Project unfinished: since Dec 2005.
Pattern: Scarf Style, by Pam Allen. Lady Eleanor Entrelac Stole by Kathleen Power Johnson, p. 52-56.
Yarn: Noro, くれよんKureyon.

Light Purple skirt

This is another crochet project: light purple dress.
Again, I forgot what pattern I followed, what I knew is that I changed the pattern while crocheting. Again , it's fast to finish off the skirt, but, because of the lace pattern, I need to add a lining inside the dress... however, because of my bad sewing skill, I didn't do any lining yet.

Project done: July, 2006.
Yarn: Needful KIM yarn, Light purple.

Camilla Valley Farm (knitting supply)

It's fun to shop for yarn, I remembered last July (2006) , I took a long trip to Orangeville (from Markham, Ontario) for visiting this big yarn shop.
After I arrived the shop, it was very amazed to see the little house in the farm. I love this place, it's very country style, and very warm.More...

I stepped into the store and found that there were so many yarns inside the store. Although they don't have lots of types of yarn, but they have almost all the colour for each kind of yarn. They carry yarns for knitters, and weavers. Of course, I don't know anything about weaving (but it sounds interesting to me! however, I don't have the budget to buy the weaving machine.)

yarns for knitters: - Cotton Chenille,
- Fortissima Colori Sock yarn,
- Jamieson's Shetland wool (great for knitting the nice bags by
Nicky Epstein ( Fabulous - Felted Bags: 15 Bags to Knit And Felt)
- Lopi Wool yarn (great for felting)
- Mission falls wool and cotton yarns (great colours!)
- Peace Fleece Wool/Mohair, etc.

On that day, I bought some goodies from the store: Some Jamieson's yarn, Cotton Chenille and one skein from Peace Fleece Wool.

Next time, if I want to order their products, I can just simple fill out the order form from their website, and they will mail to me directly. SO that I can save up the gas to drive there.

Purple skirt

This purple lace skirt was one of my favorite skirt design. This was a pattern from the book "Greetings from Knit Cafe",this beautiful skirt was exactly the one that was shown on the cover of the book. it's just gorgeous!

I didn't follow the pattern to use the yarn that was indicated. Because I love the KIM yarn so much ! The lace part is very nice and beautiful! And the ribbon from Berroco Yoga just matched the purple perfectly!
Pattern: "Greetings from Knit Cafe", Lacy Skirt with Bows by Kat Coyle, p.74.
Yarn: Needful KIM yarn, purple & Berroco Yoga.

Crochet Basket

This was the first crochet project that I made last year (2006 June).
I was not very fond of crocheting, because I found it boring to do the single and double crochet.
However, it's much faster to crochet some little things when compare with knitting.
Knitting is much finer and more delicate, crocheting is less delicate (except the lace crocheting).
The yarn that I used was hemp, it's great for crocheting baskets and purses.

Yarn: Hemp for Knitting, ALLHEMP #102 DK weight, 90g,150 yards.
color:Brick (red), Dusty Rose (pink)
